Young woman with multiple sclerosis is pain-free during NDE

It was autumn 2014 and I was 22 years old. I was going through an MS (Multiple Sclerosis) relapse. I had severe motor issues, MS hug, trouble breathing, eating, walking, etc. I had to move to my parents’ room so that my Mum can keep an eye on me. I also had stopped going to university for a while. I was bed ridden.

One morning, I was in bed napping while my Mum went to church. I just remember lying on one side with my head on my arms. I could hear my heart beat. I must have nodded off, but still hearing my heart beat. I tried to count it, but it was ever so slow. Like one beat every ten seconds.

Then I had a thought: I must call my brother and say good bye. My Mum and Dad will be so sad about me going. But at least I will be free of pain and this suffering.

Then I remember walking towards a light, but surrounded by darkness, like in a tunnel. As I walked or glided closer, I saw a silhouette. It looked like Jesus, but I could not see his face as he was so far away.

Suddenly I heard a voice. I recognised it as my late grandmother who passed away when I was just four. I was in the bed with her when she passed away in her sleep during our Sunday afternoon nap!! She kept telling me to “go back, go back.”

Suddenly I was woken up by my Mum. She said I was lying so still.

I still remember the details so well, like I lived it! I remember the smell. It smelled like my childhood home. When I was at my happiest. I didn’t have any worries, I was fed well, I played well. I was disease free! But the best part was feeling relieved from the pain I was in.

Last year when my uncle, whom I was so close to, died I had these NDE memories flood back in. Like my uncle is going through this, too, but he never turned back. But I’m happy he didn’t as he was suffering from so much pain due to cancer. May he Rest in Peace.
